New Impressive Chippy Showcases JJ’s Range!
Updated: 26 February, 2024
Blue Planet Fish and Chips (a JJ Foodservice customer), has just opened in Beckenham, offering locals freshly cooked fish and chips seven days a week.
The takeaway, which buys almost everything from JJ’s, has undergone a total refurbishment to create a fresh and stylish yet friendly and warm environment for customers.
Owner Nick Myselaj took over the shop (previously El Supremo) to create an entirely new experience for customers – he arrives at 9am every day to ensure the shop is clean, prepped and ready for business.
Traditionally, many fish and chip shops are closed on a Sunday but Blue Planet is open every day, for lunch and dinner, including until 10pm on Friday and Saturday.
“I’m passionate about fish and chips and keen to give customers the friendliest service”, says Nick. “We want to make sure that locals can enjoy freshly made-to-order fish and chips, every day, seven days a week.”
If you’re wondering where the shop name came from, Nick explains that his daughter inspired it.
“We sell five different varieties of battered fish and my daughter realised, while watching the documentary Blue Planet, that it was the perfect name for us – to reflect the many different kinds of fish and seafood that we sell.”
Nick’s menu includes cod, haddock, rock, plaice, skate, scampi, calamari and fish cakes, including grilled options, and a special ‘kids menu’ for smaller appetites. Non-fish fans can enjoy jacket potatoes, chicken or a range of different burger options.
Blue Planet Fish and Chips buys its fish and seafood products (including all the packaging seen in the pictures) from JJ Foodservice, which has eleven MSC-certified branches across the UK. The MSC label ensures that fishing practises are sustainable and cause minimal damage to the environment.
