JJ invests £2m to roll out 2000 solar panels across all branches
Updated: 22 February, 2024
We are delighted to share that we are investing more than two million pounds to install solar panels on the roofs of nine UK branches.
In a significant move to boost environmental credentials, more than 2000 panels will be installed across the roofs of Basingstoke, Bristol, Leicester, and Dagenham branches.
These are expected to generate an estimated 1,100,000 kWh annually.
Kaan Hendekli, Head of Operations at JJ Foodservice said, “We are committed to developing a sustainable environment to protect our planet and set a good example. Solar energy is sustainable, renewable and can help to cut electricity bills, which will help us to continue offering affordable prices at a time when people need it the most.”
Work on Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Doncaster, and Leeds will follow in 2023. The group already installed 2000 solar panels across its Enfield HQ (pictured above) and Sidcup branches in 2015.
Solar panels are reported to be easy to install, require low maintenance and can help to generate significant cost savings while meeting environmental targets.
