Good Luck at the National Fish and Chip Awards!
Updated: 28 February, 2024
In celebration of the National Fish and Chip Awards, we wanted to wish the best of luck to all the finalists, while also bringing attention to an untold story at JJ Foodservice – the impressive efforts of our fish and seafood category team.
JJ Foodservice Seafood
Over the past five years, our dedicated team has developed direct partnerships with vessels and producers to help stabilise pricing and ensure reliable availability for our fish and seafood customers. These direct relationships provide better control over costs, processes, and, most importantly, quality.

Innovative Fish and Seafood Ideas…

Introducing concepts like count pack formats for IQF cod and haddock provides predetermined quantities for our MSC-certified, wild-caught fillets. This simplifies menu planning for caterers and helps them manage costs.
To help fish and chip shops address skilled worker shortages, our team launched Shatter Packs. These packs contain pre-cut individually frozen fillets, ready to cook straight from the box, minimising prep time and waste.

Why such a commitment to making life easier for fish and chip shops? Because our CEO, with a background as a former restaurateur, intimately understands the needs of caterers.
Supporting more fish and chip shops

Thanks to the tireless efforts of our fish and seafood team, the number of restaurants and takeaways buying JJ fish and seafood have skyrocketed year on year – and we look forward to supporting even more businesses for years to come.
Best of luck to all the deserving finalists at the National Fish and Chip Awards this week and to the organisers at the National Federation of Fish Friers for a great event.

A big thank you to our fish and seafood category team, and everyone involved in the supply chain, for helping to put delicious, sustainably sourced seafood on our plates.
